Jim Bright Appointed Professor of Career Education and Development at ACU National.

Jim Bright was appointed Professor of Career Education and Development at Australian Catholic University in 2006. The appointment provides Jim with an opportunity to continue to contribute to the training of careers professionals in Australia - something he has done at Postgraduate level for over 11 years (previously at UNSW). It also provides Jim with a base to continue his research in career development. Jim has published extensively in academic journals in the area of careers, most notably in collaboration with Robert Pryor.

The newly created position complements Jim's professional role as Partner in Bright and Associates. It will also help continue Bright and Associates philosophy of evidenced-based practice.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to research and practice in Career Development, Robert Pryor was also appointed Adjunct Professor in Career Development at ACU National. These two appointments will provide a strong research base at ACU as a centre of excellence in Australian Careers Research. Between the two of them they bring to ACU expertise reflected in well over 150 peer-reviewed academic journal articles, books and book chapters, as well as in excess of 200 conference papers, presentations, tests, card sorts, and major professional reports, as well as literally thousands of vocational assessment reports. Both Jim and Robert are Fellows of the Australian Psychological Society.
